GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

​ A. Important Dates

• 2027 Spring Semester Dates: March 2 - June 21, 2027
• 2027 Nomination/Application Period: August 8 - October 30, 2026

B. ​Nomination & Application Process

​ 1) Nomination by the Coordinator: Once the coordinator completes the nomination, nominated students will automatically receive an email with application instructions.

2) Application by the ​Student: Online application through the HUFS Exchange Website must be completed by October 30, 2026.

​ 3) Google form Submission by the Student:

• After the online application is submitted​ by the student, our office will review the application and update the Google Form link for document submission

• Students should regularly check the “Your Application Status” banner on the application website​ for the google form link. Please note that it may take approximately 2–3 weeks after submission for the Google Form link to be updated while applications are being reviewed
• Once the Google Form link becomes available, students must also complete the Google Form submission by October 30, 2026.

3. KOREAN LANGUAGE PROGRAMS

​ A. Intensive Korean Program

• 200 hours, 10 weeks
• N​ONE creditbearing program. Even if the students enroll in this program, they are still required to register for at least one regular academic course during the semester.
• Course Fee:

i) Students with a major or minor in Korea/Korean Language, East-Asian Studies, Oriental Studies, International Studies with a focus on Korea, Translation with a focus on Korean

→ 100% Fee Waiver

ii) Major/Minor not listed above: 1,660,000 KRW = 800,000 (student) + 860,000 (HUFS)

→ 50% Fee Waiver

iii) Spring/Fall Semester Program: Fee Waiver Provided to the students

iv) Summer/Winter Program: Fee Waiver Not Provided to the students. Students have to pay all the tuition fees.

​ B. Survival Korean Program

• 25 hours, 6 weeks
• N​ONE creditbearing program
• Course Fee: NONE
• This course aims to help make the Korean language more approachable for students who wish to ease into the language during their stay at HUFS. Students may apply for this program regardless of their major (including Korean majors). Application for this program will open via a separate application form closer to the start of the semester.

4.  DORMITORY PLACEMENTS

Please note that due to limited spacing on our on/off campus dormitories, not every student will be guaranteed a spot at the time of application. Our on/off campus dorms can suit approximately 150 exchange students each semester (The number of availability is subject to change each semester). 

Dormitory assignments will be given on a first come first serve basis when students apply for it through the online application on the HUFS portal website. Please keep in mind that selecting the dormitory option on the google form that we send out to the students at a later procedure, does not guarantee students a spot in the dormitory.

Our office will do our best to accommodate students who apply for dorms and apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause for students.
