韓國語文學系暨碩士班 Department of Korean Language and Literature

I would like to highlight some important information regarding the programs. 

1. Courses

Enclosed, please find the list of courses taught in English for Fall 2025. The final course list for Fall 2026 will be available in early August. Since many of the courses in the Fall 2025 list will also be offered in Fall 2026, please have your students use it as a reference to plan their desired courses. Your students may apply for any course except for those that have restrictions against other majors/departments. 

In addition, please advise your students to get approval/recognition for 10-11 courses, just in case they don’t get the courses they want.

For students who are proficient in Korean, they can search for courses offered in Korean here:  https://sugang.konkuk.ac.kr/sugang/jsp/search/searchMainOuter.jsp

They must select 2^nd semester of 2025 to see the list.

2. Health Insurance

Starting from 1^st March 2021, incoming students residing in Korea for more than 3 months will be automatically subscribed to the National Health Insurance (approximately KRW 100,000 a month) after their ARC registration.

Payment method and other details will be provided after arrival. Student(s) who purchased insurance from their home country can apply for the exemption.

3. On-campus housing:

On-campus housing is offered for only one semester.

We guarantee on-campus housing for all international students during their first semester, but if your students stay for two consecutive semesters, they must find off-campus housing for the second semester. However, there is no need for concern as we have volunteer students who are willing to help your students find off-campus housing for their second semester if needed. 

4. Travel Advice

Please advise your students NOT to book any overseas trip before they are registered.

According to the Law and Regulations of the Republic of Korea, all foreign nationals staying in Korea for more than 90 days MUST be registered. Once the students enter Korea with their student visa, they can NOT leave Korea before getting their ARCs. Even though they have already applied for the ARC, the application will be cancelled if they leave Korea before the process is finalised. Konkuk can NOT and will NOT help with any issues related to overseas trips.

             We prepared various information sources for students/officers

1. Student Guidebook (with a Chat bot, Google sign-in required): from semester-specific information (course registration, academic calendar.) to general information (dormitory, transportation from the airport, etc)
2. Konkuk Promotional Page: Application guidelines, factsheet, course lists from the past, promotional videos, etc.

The application deadline is the 10^th of May 2026, as stated in the application guidelines. However, it can be extended a little further depending on any issues at your end.
