I would like to highlight some important information regarding the programs.
1. Enclosed, please find the list of courses taught in English for Spring 2025. The final course list for Spring 2026 won’t be available until a month before the beginning of the Spring semester (Late January ~ Early February of 2026). Since many of the courses in the Spring 2025 list will also be offered in Spring 2026, please have your students use it as a reference to plan their desired course list. Your students may apply for any course except for those that have restrictions against other majors/departments.
In addition, please advise your students to get pre-approval for at least 10 courses, including backup courses.
For students who are proficient in Korean, they can search for courses offered in Korean here: https://sugang.konkuk.ac.kr/sugang/jsp/search/searchMainOuter.jsp
They must select 1st semester of 2025 to preview what might be available in Spring 2026.
2. Classes are expected to be offered in a hybrid format (in-person + online). As of Fall 2022, Konkuk resumed in-person lectures with online portions (depending on the courses). However, this can change without notice according to the COVID-19 situation at that time. Our program will NOT be offered virtually, and students are required to be physically present at KU in order to participate.
3. Starting from 1st March 2021, incoming students residing in Korea for more than 3 months will be automatically subscribed to the National Health Insurance (approximately KRW 100,000 a month) after their ARC registration. Payment method and other details will be provided after arrival. Student(s) who purchased insurance from their home country can apply for the exemption.
4. On-campus housing is offered for only one semester. We guarantee on-campus housing for all international students during their first semester, but if your students stay for two consecutive semesters, they must find off-campus housing for the second semester. However, there is no need for concern as we have volunteer students who are willing to help your students find off-campus housing for their second semester if needed.
5. The dormitory fee (Approx. KRW 2,200,000) must be paid by wire transfer prior to arrival in order to secure a room. Details will be provided to students who have applied for on-campus housing by email.
6. Please ensure that your students meet the minimum level of English or Korean proficiency. We do not ask for language test scores because we trust our partners. However, we found out that some students have difficulties communicating in English or Korean and thus have trouble taking classes. We would really appreciate it if you could confirm your students’ oral and written proficiency in either English or Korean.
The application deadline is the 10th of November 2025, as stated in the application guidelines. However, it can be extended a little further depending on any issues at your end.
7. Although we are currently receiving applications for the timely opening and operation of our exchange program, due to the uncertainty resulting from COVID-19, please advise your students to purchase flight tickets, accommodations and other travel-related arrangements which can be cancelled or easily changed. Some students who participated in the 2022 Fall semester programme had problems due to positive PCR test results and others.
